"Beauty is worse than wine, it intoxicates both the holder and beholder."
Apparently sleeping on your face causes wrinkles. Your head can be almost 7 or so pounds! So you should try to sleep on your back or side ~~ I’m totally guilty of sleeping on my face. I usually end up on my back but to start with I fall asleep best on my face… Going to have to try and stop!
First I like to scrub off what dead skin I can in the shower or even after just doing a foot soak before bed. Then while your feet are still fresh from soaking slather on some thick moisturizer or coconut oil [that’s what I’ve been using lately] and then put on a pair of cotton socks~~ Or those fuzzy sleeping socks!
Sometimes in the deep cold depths of Alberta winter I would put lotion on my hands and wear my stretchy gloves to bed but… I always end up taking them off half way through the night … also my hands are not so dry that I need to do that~~
3. Brighten Your Teeth
I have been seeing a lot of new whitening products that you put on and leave over night. I recommend the Paula’s choice brighten up stick. It’s like … 14 bucks and has a sort of waxy texture that you rub onto your teeth and it can get rid of mild stains~
4. Add Volume and Wave
Actually I heard it’s bad to sleep with your hair loose as it can get damaged.. not sure where or how exactly that happens.. but I usually keep my hair in a loose bun on the top of my head with a scrunchie to sleep. It prevents my hair from going dead flat in between washes [remember I only wash 2-3 times a week] and can give it a little curl at the ends~
If you know that tomorrow morning you will have enough time to wake up and shower [I’m a night bather myself], or if you have the day off, why not put a deep conditioner in and sleep in it!
Personally I usually do this Friday night or Saturday night cause I don’t work on the weekends so I can wash my pillow case the next day and leave the treatment in while I’m doing chores for extra extra time ^^
Since I just dyed my hair I’ve been making an Avocado and Honey treatment ~ But store bought ones are fun too. I posted the picture of my Natto pack that I got from Joo Hee and it’s really awesome~ A little perfumy smelling but meh~ Also coconut oil… I love coconut oil <3
Oh and I guess you can sleep with a shower cap on to keep the pillow clean but … that leaves a line in my forehead and is kind of uncomfortable. I just put my ends up to a top knot and sometimes I put some saran over the bun part. I usually don’t need to put too much or any treatment on the scalp area so if I’m doing an avocado treatment I just saran the bun and the rest of the hair is just dry so it’s all good.
I can admit that I do not do this now. However I used to last summer and I keep thinking that I’ll pick up a self tanner but never seem to remember when I’m actually at a superstore…Whatever. I tan so fucking fast I already have a pretty wicked tan line from the one week of sun we got in April…
But yeah doing it at night means that in the morning you can wake up, put on a normal, nice smelling lotion and not have to deal with any smells or anything~ Also if you shower at night like me you will have exfoliated and not have to risk streaks~~
You could buy those expensive ones. Latisse is actually scientifically proven to give you results… but for me I already have a lot of lashes and the main thing is that wearing mascara day in and day out means that they can get a little dry [not with the Japanese brands though ;)] and fall out a lot faster. … especially the bottom outer corners.. wtf is up with that?
I either massage coconut oil into them or you can squeeze a little juice from a slice of lemon into some olive oil and use a clean mascara applicator [I steal them from Sephora :D] to apply it nightly. Keep that in your fridge.
8. Facial Massage
After my nightly shower or bath I sometimes like to give my face a nice massage. Lately, as I have mentioned several billion times now, I have been loving coconut oil. After I massage it in I just leave it over night to be honest but you can wash it off and go through your whole skincare routine.
You can also use olive oil or any sort of facial oil you prefer from in store. My mom had one from Fresh that she was using… I tried it and found it to be too heavily scented for my preference.
In my personal opinion there isn’t a wrong way to massage your face as long as you aren’t doing anything crazy like pulling it hard or … I dunno putting like pizza grease on your face. But if you like to follow a specific formula you can just goole it as tons of Asian magazines put facial massages into their issues every month.. by Asian I mean Japanese…
I do know that there is a sort of lymphe node release point for your under eye bags that you can activate by gently but firmly swiping from the outside of your under eye to the inside and up to the front of your eye brow and kind of pressing a bit there. It’s hard to describe in text but it does seem to help a bit if the cause of your panda eyes is build up of fluid. Sleeping on your back with your head elevated will also help that too ^^

Everything here is great but especially the bowtie with the denim vest. Also her makeup and hair. And … all the things.

I love how the NARS team translated this rich Naeem Khan SS13 look to compliment each skintone using matte and gloss finishes.
